Florida Hotels and Attractions

Known for its tourist attractions including some of the world’s best beaches, sprawling amusement parks, wonders of nature and unique resorts, Florida is far from an undiscovered secret when it comes to vacation destinations. However, knowing a bit more about all the Sunshine State has to offer can help you decide what type of vacation to book – and just as importantly - when to book it.

The glitz, glamour and world-class resorts and beaches of areas like South Beach, Palm Beach and Key West are perfect for those in search of a luxury getaway. The Everglades and Florida’s many other nature conservation areas are a dream for the eco-minded and lovers of animal and plant life alike. Of course, from Disney World to Legoland, Florida’s amusement parks redefine the idea of "endless fun." And with resorts, attractions and entire vacation packages catered towards lovers, golfers, and sports superfans, Florida is the king of the themed getaway.

Wondering when to plan your Florida vacation? As a rough guide, the best time is between November and May – you’ll enjoy less chance of tropical rainstorms as well as perfect temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Towards the end of this peak season (March-May) you’ll enjoy these same benefits but with a tapering off of the winter crowds and with somewhat lower airfare and flight rates. These optimal travel times vary slightly depending on your specific destination – with North Florida actually becoming a tourist destination in the rest of the state’s offseason.

Very good value and in an excellent location. Received complementary drinks at happy hour, can't ask for more. Only negative is lack of noise dampening with adjacent rooms, in main hotel. However I would definitely stay again

We like how it's conveniently across from Universal Studios. If you miss the shuttle it's not a bad walk over. We came in an hour after check in started and our RESERVED suite was still not ready. No explanation was given as to why. We had to wait another 45 minutes to get our key. Our suite was as clean as it could be but the rooms need to be renovated! The carpet looks like it's been through the ringer. The lights took a minute to come on and one of them never worked. There was a huge slash on our head board and questionable splatter stains on it. Also would not recommend going to the Friday's that is attached to their building.

Reviewing for airport parking. Simply the best value for MIA. I will recommend this place to park to everyone flying out. Shuttles were quick, spacious, and had ice cold AC. The drivers were friendly as well. Lot is fenced in and secure. Can’t ask for much more. I will definitely use this lot again

I would have given this hotel a 5 star, had it not been for customer service. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. Feels like a resort almost. However, customer service is slacking. Sherman at the front desk, never greets guests. I have to wait to be acknowledged or initiate conversation first. Whenever you ask him for something, he makes you feel like it’s an imposition. I don’t understand how he obtained a supervisor position. He Made me dread going to the front desk or asking any questions. My guests also experienced his unprofessionalism. Natalia in the front bar, however, very engaging with her guests and always greets you with a welcoming smile. Beautiful hotel but it could truly use some retraining in professionalism and guest hospitality with its employees. I had an issues with another employee as well but details aren’t needed. Please just retrain your staff. This hotel has potential and deserves more credit than I could give.

Just left the place today! Such a wonderful resort, will definitely be choosing this place over any other one. Minimal traffic around the area. Clean room. Had a 2 bedroom suite. Very welcoming. Can definitely use a few upgrades in the room, but that's not important. Previous reviews had complaints about noise? Not much loudness except for the bar/beach across the bay. Definitely recommend!!!

What an outstanding visit I had! The Best Florida Resort is well named. I had a blast while I stayed there and was very happy with my accommodations. The staff was super friendly and when I arrived early, they jumped through hoops to get me in my room fast. I came to the area for a running race that was close by and the weekend couldn't have been better. Thanks George, and his staff for a great time. I'll be back next year!

For the money you pay it is excellent value. The rooms are a little dated, however they are clean, spacious and have everything that you need. The location of the venue is great and you can walk to most places with ease. Staff were helpful. The gym is small, however it is good to have. 3 pools to choose from, all of which are similar sizes and towels are provided.

Great hotel to stay in, at affordable rates! Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Good spread at breakfast, and they have fresh cookies available in the lobby every evening. The single king room is somewhat small. Barely adequate for one adult. The 2 queen rooms might be better for 1-2 adults. However, everything was clean and the rooms have microwaves and mini refrigerators. There's a convenience store across the street and a 7-eleven a bit further away. No ATM at the hotel, but it's right next door to a gas station.

An issue arose while staying at this location and the General Manager went out of his way to be respectfully prompt investigating and resolving my issue. I am very grateful for the amazing customer service I received. Please do not hesitate to let the GM know about your stay. Good or bad, he will do whatever it takes to resolve it. He also deserves to be told he's doing a good job.

We enjoy Candlewood Suites. We were between cruises and free laundry facilities were very convenient. They have a cupboard with assorted sundries that although they have a mark up may be just enough to preclude having to drive somewhere just after you settle in. Nice rooms, quality beds and linens combined with nice outside sitting areas just makes one feel at home. In addition, at each Candlewood we have stayed, every employee is super pleasant. We look forward to our next visit.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is not only one of the largest entertainment complexes in the world, but it is also the most visited vacation resort with an annual attendance of more than 52 million. A visit here is truly an escape to an entirely different and magical world!

Universal Studios Orlando

For film and TV buffs, this theme park is a must-visit. With attractions based on both classic and recent blockbusters, you’ll enjoy rides, shows and interactive experiences based on beloved productions like Despicable Me, Shrek, Spongebob Squarepants, The Fast and The Furious, Harry Potter, Men In Black, The Simpsons and countless more. Look out for special annual events and time your trip for the chance to make your visit even more special.

Legoland

While there are other NASA field centers, Kennedy Space Center has become synonymous with the wonder of rocket/shuttle launches and human spaceflight. The designated visitor complex brings you up close to historical memorabilia and spacecraft, exhibitions and the iconic countdown clock.

Florida National Parks

For nature lovers, Florida boasts three of the U.S.’ most captivating state parks. Mangrove tours are undoubtedly one of the highlights of a Florida park visit, but these parks have even more to offer.

Everglades National Park

Star of many gripping films and novels, the ever-mysterious Everglades is a massive 1.5-million-acre wetlands reserve located at the State’s southernmost point. Mangroves, marshes, and flatwoods are home to one of the world’s most fascinating flora and fauna ecosystems. Animal lovers on one of the legendary mangrove tours can look forward to glimpses of countless bird species, manatees, panthers – and of course crocodiles! For the adventurous and those hoping to take a deep dive into the Everglades, camping is also an option.

Biscayne National Park

South of Miami you’ll find Biscayne National Park. Like the Everglades, you’ll be able to engage in mangrove tours, but with the shallow coastal waters and offshore reef being included, you can also marvel at the Florida reef and Elliot Key – the first and largest of the Florida Keys islands. Dive sites (many of them shipwrecks) abound, and animal life includes dolphins, turtles, pelicans, and countless fish species.

Dry Tortugas National Park

Just west of Key West is the famed Dry Tortugas National Park. Consisting of seven islands, the many protected coral reefs found here are considered the most pristine of all the Florida Keys reefs. Abundant sea life and tropical bird breeding grounds make it a haven for animal watching, while adventure seekers can enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and kayaking. The enormous 19th-century fortress Fort Jefferson is an architectural marvel that acts as the centerpiece of the park.
